Peter is one of the most experienced family lawyers you will find. With over 45 years at the sharp end of family law, he brings a depth of knowledge and a steadiness of judgement that is genuinely rare. Qualifying in 1978 and joining Osmond Gaunt & Rose, and over the decades, built a practice that spans the full spectrum of family work. He has always believed that there are better ways to resolve family issues than the Court.

He was one of the first solicitors in the country to train as a family mediator, over 30 years ago; trained as a Collaborative Family Lawyer; and continues to be the Chief Assessor for Law Society Family Law Panel examinations.

His areas of work included all aspects of relationship breakdown and divorce, mediation and collaborative family law, nuptial agreements, and children’s matters, including Child Abduction matters and was one of the founders of the Chilad Abduction Lawyers Association.

He is also one of the very few solicitors in the country with specialist experience in Anglo-Swedish family law — a niche that reflects both the breadth of his career and the international reach of the clients who seek him out. He has led mediation in disputes involving assets exceeding £15 million and has successfully navigated some of the most complex and emotionally charged cases imaginable. He became a Consultant at BRAND in 2020.

As a Consultant, he is now semi-retired; concentrating on his Mediation work and Anglo-Swedish family issues
